Growing in Faith
There is a lot going on at the Church of Christ as we seek to grow spiritually and to build our community!
Sunday school:
We offer Christian education for students age 4 through 6th grade beginning in worship and moving to the classroom for a 40 minute session. Our goal is to work in partnership with families to provide Christian nurturing for our children. We use ‘Seasons of the Spirit’ © a liturgical curriculum to guide us on our faith journey. The scripture used in worship is reinforced in Sunday school class, as well as studied at a weekly adult bible study.
Pilgrim Fellowship:
Middle school and high school groups meet a couple Sundays a month for fun, discussion, and mission work. Retreats to Silver Lake Conference center and mission trips have become favorite activities. Our youth meet with other area churches to participate in the Giv2 youth service program.
Confirmation class:
High school groups meet weekly to discuss Christianity, Church history, and the UCC statement of faith, to help our youth grow in their faith and empower them to claim their own ministry.
Bible Study:
Thursday evenings 7:00 – 8:30pm we gather for group discussions of the scripture readings for the week. Whether you come occasionally or every week, conversations will help you apply the wisdom of the scriptures.
Activities for all ages include
Christmas caroling, a Christmas pageant, and educational programs wrapped up in fun at the Epiphany and Mardi gras parties.
The youth choir and drum circle groups enhance worship several time throughout the year.
An annual family retreat toSilverLake.
